Usages: trimethylsilyl chloride is mainly used as an intermediate in the production of silicone polymer and other products, and also a raw material for the production of high-molecular compound sealing agent, desiccant, dehydrating agent, high-temperature adhesive and resin. It is used for the synthesis of cephalosporin I and cephalosporin V in pharmaceutical production. This product can be used to produce a variety of organosilicon compounds, and is the main raw material for the production of hexamethyldisilazane and hexamethyldisiloxane. It can be used to prepare alkylating agent, and can also be used as group protective agent in pharmaceutical and chemical production.

Precautions: It may fume in moist air and is soluble in benzene and ether; may cause combustion or explosion when contacting with naked flame, high temperature and strong oxidant. It decomposes and releases heat when heated or contacting with water, giving out toxic corrosive smoke.

Packaging and transportation:

1. This product should be packaged by dry and clean plastic-lined iron drum or plastic drum (170kg/drum) in a sealed manner or packaged according to the customer’s requirements and as stipulated.

2. Ensure that the containers are free from leakage, collapse, falling and damage during transportation. Prohibit packaging or transporting it together with strong acid, strong base, strong oxidant, water or edible chemical products. It shall be protected from exposure to sunshine and raining during transportation. Keep away from fire, heat source and high temperature area during stopover. Handle with care to prevent damage to packaging and containers.

3. Trimethylsilyl chloride products should be stored in cool, dry and ventilated places and away from fire sources and other dangerous goods.
